Every school year opens with a list. For a household already choosing between rent and food, that list is one more bill arriving at the worst possible time.
Children notice what they're missing. Turning up without a notebook, without a pencil, without the uniform everyone else is wearing — that's not a small thing when you're nine. It shows up as falling behind, and it shows up as not wanting to go.
We cover the list, so the first day is about the classroom rather than what's missing from the desk.

Contents are matched to the school's own supply list where we have it, so a student arrives with what their classroom actually asked for.
How it works
Kits are built around a single student for a full school year, and we include the uniform alongside the supplies. A uniform is the part families most often can't stretch to, and it's the part other children see.
We work through schools and trusted local partners, who know which students need a kit and can hand them over without singling anyone out. Where a school publishes its own supply list, we match the kit to it rather than guessing.

Cover a desk
Donations to Education pay for the backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and uniforms in these kits. We also take supplies directly — if you'd rather give the things than the money, we'll take the things.

Are donations tax-deductible?
