Version: 2.0 Effective date: September 13, 2026
Scope
This Privacy Policy covers the Nydus Foundation informational and donation website, including donations, volunteer requests, contact requests, and newsletters. Nydus Open Learning is intentionally designed for learners, including children, and is governed by the separate Nydus Open Learning Privacy & Children’s Notice.
Reading or browsing this Website is not blanket consent to processing. Where consent is required, we ask for it separately and you may withdraw it.
Information and purposes
We collect information you give us and technical information needed to operate, protect, and measure the Website.
- Donations: donor name, contact details, donation amount, date, receipt/tax information, and payment status, to process donations, issue receipts, prevent fraud, and meet accounting and legal duties. Card details are processed by Stripe and are not stored by us.
- Volunteer and contact requests: name, email, phone number, message, availability, and information you choose to provide, to respond and coordinate.
- Newsletter marketing: email address and subscription preferences, to send requested updates; unsubscribe at any time.
- Website analytics and operations: IP-derived security and server logs, browser/device information, pages requested, and measurement data, to secure, maintain, understand, and improve the Website. The Website uses Google Tag Manager and /tracking.js, which creates a nydus_user_id in local storage and a 365-day cookie and passes it with campaign information to the GTM data layer.
Providers, sharing, and transfers
Our current listed providers are Cloudflare (hosting, security, and aggregate website measurement), Stripe (donation payment processing), and Google Forms (volunteer forms). Each receives only the information necessary for its service. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, authorities where legally required, or a successor in a lawful organizational transaction.
Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Transfers are made using an applicable legal transfer mechanism where required; a visitor’s ordinary use of the Website is not treated as consent to an international transfer.
Retention
- Donation and receipt records: 7 years after the relevant tax year.
- Volunteer and contact requests: 24 months after the last interaction, unless a longer period is needed for an active matter.
- Newsletter records: until unsubscribe, then suppression evidence for 2 years.
- Security/server logs: up to 90 days; aggregate analytics have no direct identifier and may be retained longer.
Cookies and tracking choices
The Website uses cookies and local storage for the analytics described above. You can clear or block them using browser controls, although this does not prevent all server-side logging. Where a law requires prior consent for nonessential cookies or analytics, we will obtain that consent through the applicable consent mechanism before placing or reading them; browser controls alone may not be sufficient for every jurisdiction.
Children
This Foundation Website is directed to adults, donors, volunteers, and community members. It is not the Nydus Open Learning service. If a child uses Open Learning, the separate children’s notice and guardian process apply. If you believe a child has sent personal information through this informational Website, contact us so we can address it.
Rights, updates, and contact
Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection, and may complain to your local data-protection authority. Email [email protected] with enough detail to verify and handle your request. We will not discriminate for exercising applicable rights.
We will post versions and effective dates here and give additional notice for material changes when appropriate. Prior versions can be requested at the same address.
